I’ve grown to love January as a wedding photographer. It’s the time where I can simultaneously be reflecting at the years past while starting to map out my vision for the year ahead. I spent this afternoon compiling photos from the past year for an upcoming mentorship with a beloved wedding photographer. During this time looking through my work, I pulled out my 10 favorite images I took at weddings with my Rolleiflex. It’s the camera I feel most like myself while using, and the one I get the most questions about on a wedding day. Looking down to focus rather than write into the eyes of my subjects, allows them to be more themselves, and allows me to take more time to take a breath and compose. So here are those favorite photos on my favorite camera from what has definitely become a favorite year for shooting weddings.

A few special weddings a year ask me to stay late-late, to capture the raw joy of the afterparty. My own wedding afterparty was my favorite part of the day, so it’s a treat to capture late nights in my own way. Here are some favorites from weddings over the past three years.

Photographing @karaduvalrange taught me that the moments in between movements should be photographed more, and reaffirmed how much I love photographing the body in motion. I’ve been so excited to share the work we created together, with @sokoishop at @fablefarm . Shot with Kodak Gold, Cinestill 50D and 400T, and a few with digital.

I’ve been photographing the gardens of my friend Courtney, a talented landscape designer and gardener this spring. It’s been a quiet meditation for both my photography and gardening practice, and I’ll keep photographing as the seasons progress.

A cool late summer Vermont wedding at one of my favorite places to photograph, I found inspiration and joy everywhere while celebrating Maddy and Brendan.

A Woodstock wedding weekend captured on film, a favorite from last year. @birdsofaflower shone with her bold blooms on the most stunning July weekend.

I’m celebrating my birthday this week, and often find myself reflecting on my growth and updating my artist statement during this time. This year affirmed that I am head over heels in love with photographing weddings over any other kind of photography. Multi-day weekend celebrations, intimate, two-hour elopements, and anything in between, it all brings me joy. From getting to know each of my couples as friends and learning about their families, to stitching together the final narrative, I’m here for the whole ride. I’m so looking forward to this season, especially, as there are so many special celebrations that I have the honor of capturing this year eternally grateful to my couples and my colleagues in the industry who make this work even more meaningful. Favorites from my Rolleiflex from Kerry and John’s Farm to Table Wedding in Vermont last September. An exceptional example of an intentional couple paying homage to the land around them.

In March, @kellybenvenuto and I organized a small group of talented New England wedding photographers for a collaborative retreat in Maine. During this time, we all helped each other choose images for our portfolios by spreading out hundreds of prints on a long table. Here are ten from the favorites chosen by the group!

We unexpectedly said goodbye to our beloved dog Arlo this week. He brought us infinite joy for twelve years. While I don’t often mix my personal life with my business, Arlo was intertwined in everything I do, and I wanted to share with my community here. Sharing pictures will always be healing (I’m always so happy to hear when pictures I’ve taken of people or animals you loved were things were a balm during the grieving process) so if you have pictures or stories of Arlo, or things that helped you heal with your own pet’s passing, I’d love to hear it. 🖤

One of the things I’m most excited about for 2026 is the amount of backyard/estate weddings that I have (5!). There’s an added layer of storytelling, plus it’s fun to photograph at a place I’ve never been before. For Julia and Silas, who are getting married at a beloved family farm, I scheduled a mid winter visit to scout the property on skis. We did a 20 minute practice session in the midst of our scouting, and these are some of my favorites from that time.
