You can feel the intention in the details. This handmade pottery so lovingly crafted. As is usual in Vermont, we met Cal and Kyle, owners and makers behind @deepwoodspottery , through a myriad of interesting circumstances and crossing paths. As fate would have it, all of that would collide where food meets plate, in a seemingly perfect match. Their intentionality and dedication to craft, matches our own. Their handcrafted wares are a perfect accompaniment to @fablefarms artisan wines. In their words "Our pottery is a testament to the rustic charm of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, where the rugged landscapes and welcoming community inspire every piece we shape by hand. Vermont is more than a place—it's a way of life that celebrates hardiness, strength, and authenticity. Our work strives to capture the essence of this unique way of living, reminding us to value quality over quantity, mindfulness over haste, and the joys of simplicity." We like to think that these words also capture the spirit of the Hearthroom Dinner Series. Join us, take joy in the simplicity of community around fire and table. Let your bare hands hold the fruits of a passion poured out. This is authentic luxury - real, grounded, beauty. #tasteofplace #nodeepfakes Tickets live in one week | May 22 Pics by @deepwoodspottery

Spring is a time of renewal at Fable. After the long winter, we are deep in the rush of prepping the fields, planning the season’s vegetables, gathering our culinary team, and readying every corner of the farm for visitors to return. When Fable Farm began in 2008 as a CSA, the vision was simple: to build something rooted in reciprocity between farm and community. That spirit still guides us. Today, Feast & Field is more than a summer gathering series; it is the economic backbone of our farm, sustaining this work while creating a place for community to gather, eat, and connect. This year, we are introducing Community Supported Dining Shares to help seed the season ahead. By prepaying for your summer meals and drinks, you provide the stability we need to grow with intention. Whether you choose a Family, Date Night, or Solo share, your credit acts as a running tab for food, drinks at the bar, and take-home bottles all summer long. For those farther away, our Wine & Vinegar Clubs offer another way to support the farm and stay connected to the living library of our cellar. Members receive quarterly shipments of our apple and grape wines, meads, and/or barrel-aged raw vinegars, along with early access to limited releases and year-round discounts. Whether you join us on Thursday evenings or through the wine club, your participation helps keep this land, this work, and this vision in motion. Secure your Dining Share or join the Wine Club using the link in our bio.

This week marks the crossing of a powerful new threshold—for Fable, for @feastandfield , and for farming in our sacred high-elevation valley. Eighteen years ago, Fable was born in an old farmhouse in Barnard. We raised a yurt and a tipi, built an outdoor kitchen and wood-fired oven, and welcomed a rotating constellation of WWOOFers, farmers, and beautiful humans who gathered to grow food and culture together. People arrived from all over, and together we cultivated a living, breathing homebase rooted in shared work, shared meals, and shared purpose. Since fully moving our operations to our current location, that homebase has been missing. We’ve been stewarding the land from a single off-grid cabin—functional, but isolating, and far from the communal energy that once defined us. Add to that the reality of scarce housing in our valley, and it became clear: if this work is going to endure, we need to reimagine how we live together. This week, that vision begins to take form. We’re launching a full renovation of an old uninhabitable farmhouse that will become the new heart of this zone—a place for the people who make this work possible to live, gather, and belong. We’re gutting the structure, removing the second floor and roof, and restoring it to its original historic expression as a classic cape. In the process, we’ll build with intention—using hemp, lime, and wood to create a high-performance home that honors the vernacular wisdom of the past while meeting the needs of the future. This project is about more than walls and roofs. It’s about regenerating community, creating access, and planting the conditions for collaboration to thrive. We’re deeply energized by what this will mean for life in this valley—and for the farms and farm-based businesses growing together through the Feast & Field Farmers collective. This is how we keep the story going.

This Thursday marks our final Rumney Session of the year! Due to the way the holidays lay out this year, we’ll be back in mid-January, running through till the end of March. We are so grateful for everyone who’s made the trek to Barnard on dark, cold nights to share in the warm, intimate magic of these shows. The barn was built for music, and it’s been an honor to fill it with the sounds and stories of so many wildly creative folks. This week, we’re thrilled to welcome a fresh voice: Eric George! Hailing from the Burlington music scene and best known as the frontman of the beloved old-school country band Ponyhustle, Eric is one of the most prolific folk musicians in the Northeast. Expect heartfelt storytelling, timeless country grit, and a night that feels just right for closing out the year. Doors open at 5:30pm, music goes on around 6:00pm. Come get cozy—this one’s special!
