Heather, of @birdsofaflower , has always been at her core, a creator of worlds. Earlier this year I traveled to her own world, her horse farm in Pomfret, to capture the result of a creative day with her daughter and close family friends. When I look back at these photographs, I think about one of my biggest influences in my own photography, my mother, who, in addition to starting and running a successful wedding and portrait photography studio, ran a side business for several years that focused on whimsical, otherworldly children’s portraits. The poses, light, and composition feel strikingly similar to her work during that time.
