I need to stop playing small. I don't make a lot of noise about what I do or what I've done, but sometimes I don't know how much of it is shyness and how much of it is Impostor Syndrome. Take this fab picture for example. I love it. @KolaOshalusi took it. It's stunning. But I felt 'a kinda way' about posting it. And I don't even know why! ______________________________________________ Also, the Bible says "Don’t call attention to yourself; let others do that for you" Proverbs 27:2 MSG But nowadays, when it seems like the loudest people get the opportunities you think you deserve (and maybe you don't, but that's another angle 😂), it can be hard to figure out how much "noise" you need to make so that you are at least a player in the game. Especially as a woman. In almost every field. You have to lean in, you have to make yourself heard, and I know the God I love doesn't even want me to be or feel "less than," because after all, we are all fearfully and wonderfully made. We are royalty. So I haven't figured it out yet, but I think it's something we should intentionally decide: to equip ourselves for opportunities, to say yes to things and figure out the how later (not for everything o, biko apply wisdom, 😂), to be bold in whatever space we occupy and be excellent in all aspects because then, even when our voices aren't the loudest, our work, our efforts, our results, speak for us. Please share your thoughts on this, especially ladies. If it's something you've struggled with, how do you deal? If you haven't, I salute - please share how you do it! _______________________________________________ Bottom line: We need to stop playing small ❤️

#TBT to Young(er) #LamideWorks! Who remembers the baby journo days 😂? Saw this while clearing out my phone and posted a clip in my stories, and was summarily threatened to post on my feed so here we are! It's been an interesting journey in the journo/media space. A good reminder to self that I'm not new to this, I'm actually a bad ass at this thing and the receipts are plenty! 😂 Also, document your journeys, friends. It's never a waste! From 2011, anchoring presidential election coverage at TVC to filming a documentary on Rwanda 20 years post genocide and hosting a panel with (then candidate) president Buhari for Ebonylife TV - So many more things before, in between, and after. I look forward to looking back in another few years. It's been quite a ride! #LamideAkintobi #MediaChick #CareerStories #WomeninMedia #WomeninAfricanMedia #WomeninNigerianMedia #Andifyoudontknownowyouknow

It’s never too late for a January recap. Take it like that please and thanks. Lots of travel + new work and life experiences - First time in Mississippi, First TikTok (with my instructor 😂@sirathienou2 ), I got to meet Rick Ross and he’s a big fan of mine 😂, first time at CNN HQ, and my first time in Doha. Swipe to see #peopleofdyelab 😂 and @chef_fregz in perfume heaven 😂- Premium fun with good people, in style - and as always, lots of #BuyNaijaweareverywhere #WhatLamideWore I read a few beautiful books but Eddie Winston tugged at my heartstrings. Spent time with my Sissy and my babies - they insist on growing up and I don’t know how to feel about that 😂 In all things, thanks to God for a beautiful beginning of the year. See you in June for the Feb recap? 😂

I discovered @lamide_a the presenter during her days at EbonyLife TV and I became a fan. There is a respect she had for her craft and it showed when she is on screen and on stage. When I found out that she studied Broadcast Journalism with Spanish at undergrad and followed up with a masters in International Journalism as a Chevening scholar, it all made sense. And it wasn’t just the degrees, the experience matched up. She has worked for Channels Television, Television Continental, EbonyLife TV, Hi-Media Group, Nigerian Entertainment Today and Diaspora Quarterly. In her current role at CNN International as Producer, Editorial Sponsorship on several shows, she has continued to deliver excellent work and last year, I was so excited to see her again on screen. If you are a presenter/producer who wants to get better or be inspired or wants to work for a global platform, watch Lamide work. Thank you Lamide for being not just a professional but exemplary at what you do. #IsabellaAdediji #30DaysOfHerspiration #HERspiration #HERspiration2025 #LamideAkintobi

What a year. Grateful for the lessons, the many reasons to thank God - for unending mercy and favor, for miracles and for joy, and even for the things that didn’t work out as I’d hoped. Happy to be surrounded with love, and grateful ALWAYS to be where I am, for the people I’m blessed to call my village, and for the God that sustained, cherished and held me and mine this year. See y’all in 2026! Let’s make it a good one, yeah? #FromLamideWithLove
