Our vendor community came together to support these courageous women. They collected funding for breast cancer research. They also continued building advocacy for those women who are navigating diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Somehow climbing a ladder to hang a chandelier feels easier than responding to one more email. Our brains are not normal. And honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way. This is where the real work lives — not in the inbox, not in the mood board, not in the planning documents that keep everything moving behind the scenes. It’s here. Hands on. In the room. Watching something that existed only as an idea on a screen become a space people actually stand inside and feel. Styled shoots are where I get to push past the brief. No parameters, no timeline pressure — just a concept taken as far as it can go. Drapery floor to ceiling, chandeliers stacked until the room barely breathes, candlelight everywhere, and a stunning cake from @ink_sweets that stopped everyone on set mid-sentence. Equestria West held all of it beautifully. The Four Seasons has never done anything quite like this. Four rooms. One story. A full Alice in Wonderland experience built course by course through spaces the hotel had never opened this way before — including their kitchen, where guests got to pick tasty bites among floral gardens on the tables and drank tea like they had stumbled somewhere entirely new. It started with a violinist and cellist setting the tone before anyone had taken their first sip. It moved through the kitchen, into a ballroom with lighting designed specifically for this night, through a dessert room pulled straight from Wonderland, and closed in the Four Seasons lobby bar because the best stories don’t end abruptly — they linger. Designing for industry peers is its own kind of standard. These are the people who know every decision that goes into a room. There is nowhere to hide and no reason to. Volume two. This month I can’t stop thinking about stages. Not the kind that gets ordered from a rental catalog and forgotten about until load-in day. The kind that stops a guest mid-conversation the moment they walk into the room. The stage is arguably the largest install at any reception. It anchors the entire space, it lives in every photo, and it is in direct eyeline of your guests for most of the night. Treating it as an afterthought is one of the most expensive design mistakes you can make — and no one talks about it. Swipe through what’s been living on my board lately — from sculptural florals to a center-floor circular stage to a tropical shell installation to drapery and art that makes the whole room bow toward it. It’s hard to put this one into words. To be surrounded by women like this. Women who keep showing up, who keep pushing forward, who continue to choose life and connection after walking through something so heavy. It changes you. There’s a different kind of strength in that room.
One that isn’t loud, but steady.
One that holds both softness and resilience at the same time. To create a space where these women could be seen, celebrated, and honored in this way… it’s something I’ll carry with me for a long time. This wasn’t just an event.
It was a gathering.
A moment.

I walked into Kindred not fully knowing what to expect, just knowing I wanted to grow. So I came alone, placing myself in a room that felt bigger than me. I won’t pretend I wasn’t intimidated. The talent was undeniable, and being the only one there from Minnesota… I felt it. I even wrote myself a mantra before arriving, something to ground me. But I never actually needed it. From the first cocktail hour to the final breakfast, every detail felt intentional, not just visually, but emotionally. We were placed in conversations with care, creating space for connection that felt both effortless and meaningful. I laughed until I cried with someone I had just met. I opened my heart to someone I hadn’t seen in years. And I left with a full heart. A clearer vision. And a deeper confidence in my decision to be fully seen, to show up in the light I know I carry. Because while the talent in that room was magazine-worthy, the egos were left at the door. What remained was something far more powerful: a shared desire for growth, connection, and something deeper than just beautiful work.
