My sophomore album, SOL, is finally out. I held this project close to my heart all year, and now it’s finally yours.

I don’t even know where to start.
I wrote this album as my self-discovery journal over the last few years as I navigated through relationships, adulthood, and trying to make a living in a way too expensive city. The through line for me has always been how I approach the highs and lows. That approach is largely because of how my grandma, Solita (Sol for short), and how the rest of my family, raised me.
I named the album after my Grandma Sol because I realized how much she taught me growing up. Her lessons are littered throughout the album, some more apparent than others. She taught me patience, how to see both sides, and how to lead with love. There was nothing better than hanging out at her apartment after school and just talking to her. Listening to her brother’s tape of him playing classical guitar and hearing how much she loved hearing him play. I won’t ever know what she thinks of this project, but hopefully she thinks it’s slaps lol.

We made this song in a single sitting, after scheduling an impromptu session together. We’d worked once before but something brought us back together. This one instantly clicked for the both of us, and we were done in a couple of hours. I love the honesty, and perspective of this joint. It feels like here, it feels like now. With the hope of brighter days on the horizon, we can find solace in being “HERE FOR A WHILE”.
