Kryptogen Rundfunk is an experimental sound project started in 2002 and currently based in Amstelveen, The Netherlands. The project works with analogue electronics, radio waves, electromagnetic interference and found sounds, creating sophisticated aural images, often exploring extreme areas of the sonic spectrum. Monthly diary – January 2026

We’ve got a CD-repress of the very first @fonodroom / Base Station release back from 2023: Kryptogen Rundfunk ‘To Dream is to Destroy’. The fourth studio album of @kryptogena and the first one since his relocation to the Netherlands. Six tracks full of weird trademark radio noises and interceptions, heavy bass drones and piercing high frequencies, abstract electronic signals and quirky samples. These layered compositions are slowly building up, creating thick mesmerizing walls of sound, yet at the same time leaving room for a bit of flippancy. An uneasy ride for a restless mind, but quite exciting for an attentive one! Second press comes in a 4-panel digisleeve with slightly adjusted artwork.
