It started as the most simple, sunny road with the aim of bringing nothing but joy and punk and yet turned into an incredibly long, often dark and always complicated road; there were many times it would have been far, far easier to give up on the original idea of music Pete and I loved as teenagers until this day, and just let the album sit in a drawer. But the light has to defeat the dark. Thank you to everyone who helped with this album, even with just one encouraging word. YOU RULE. A little over 20 years ago, Rocket Science managed to nab the support slot for Supergrass on their Aus tour. After the first show, they invited us to join them for their upcoming UK tour. We said yes instantly. This generosity gave us an amazing leg up, and led to one of my most exciting tours ever. This generosity has continued over the years with another Aus tour, a split 7 inch single, and just last week, a run of shows for their I Should Coco anniversary tour. They are four of the sweetest folks you could ever meet, and it’s been amazing to watch them play again. To hear those songs, and to feel the love in the room coming at them from the crowd, is Pure Joy.
