🏆 Tonight is the night! The @musicproducersguild ALBUM OF THE YEAR will be decided, and @biffy_clyro ‚s FUTIQUE is up for a award tonight. Unfortunately I’m not able to make it to London tonight, so I’m wishing all the best to all my co-nominees, the amazingly talentented people involved, namely producer & mixer @jon_gilmore Jonathan Gilmore (who is also up for the breakthrough producer award), co-producers Biffy Clyro, engineer @fred_wills Freddy Williams (who is also up for the breakthrough engineer award). Whether it’s a win or not, I’m honored to be nominated and to see Biffy’s awesome album receive such praise. The two other albums nominated, by previous collaborator @sam_fender and Olivia Dean, are also fantastic, and paint a great picture of the vibrant UK music and audio production scene. I’m proud to be a part of it! The list of award nominees is full of friends, colleagues and collaborators, I wish you all the best of luck! Also, most importantly, I am so happy to see my former teacher, @lipaliverpool head of sound department, huge influence and mentor, Jon Thornton, awarded for special achievement. What is your favourite song you previously worked on? I myself don’t know, there are so many amazing tracks to choose from… But what is easier to say is there are some that are criminally underrated, that remain largely unknown. One such track is ‚Sesamé‘ by Monsieur Koala. I came across it nearly 20 years ago, but every single time I’ve listened to it over the years, I felt an itch to share it. What became of the band? I’m not sure. Certainly the song and accompanying album didn’t get the attention it deserves.
