Thank you to everyone who attended our lecture “Third World Duplication: Archiving Filipino Risograph Ephemera” at
@printedmatter_artbookfairs LA Art Book Fair The Classroom, David Senior for inviting us, the LAABF staff, and everyone who visited our booth to support! Filipino Risograph Duplicate Archive is currently sold out but we will begin printing the second edition next month and opening online orders. 🤍
🦋 This was truly a tribute to our small publishing community in the Philippines who greatly contributed to shaping our practice in Kittybug and we still can’t believe the lecture turnout and support for our work. We were so touched by so many people attending the lecture (We were expecting 30 people and attendance was double that!) and we thank you for your curiosity and openness to the research we’ve been doing.
📖 Thank you to our lecture contributors:
@annasshole on the Risograph ephemera deep dive,
@kaninrices on print and press history, and our interview guest
@mchmrmnd who recounted her experience using riso as a former student media activist.
📝 Thank you also to the following:
@reinagination for her work on the tagalog translation of Filipino Risograph Duplicate Archive,
@butikinababoy for his interviews with Blessings Print Shop, and
@aniciaclean @hubineer @laborarchive.ph on their answers about their current positions on archiving.
