We are so grateful to the KN tribe for wrapping their korowai of tautoko around us over these past 12yrs up until the launch of our first physical space Te Āhuru Mōwai (safe haven, shelter) that will act as a hub for @kaahuicollective and a base to run social, educational and community initiatives in sustainable fashion and enterprise ❤️🖤🤍🌱🌱🌱 hugest shout out to @thehoodandco for this beautiful collation of moving memories 🤍🤍🤍

Nei rā ngā mihi maioha nō te whatumanawa ki a koutou, te whānau whānui o KIRI NATHAN Mei kore ake koutou 🤍🤍🤍 The making of Te Kuneroa- the evolution of Māori clothing Phase 6 - Te Kuneroa Prelude Video This video was a critical component to telling our full pūrākau (story) on the runway… unless context was given, no one would understand the journey or evolution we were speaking of… I reached out to our long time collaborators and friends James and Feli at The Hood and co to curate a prelude video that would connect, and instigate emotions around our shared history as New Zealander’s… to speak of our shared past, present and aspirations for our future in context to Māori fashion, and it did not disappoint! The use of layered sounds from era’s and finesse in finishing was spectacular 💫💫💫 James and Feli are beautiful friends who are insanely talented! Their small business consistently punches above their weight and delivers world class mahi! They also own and run the most stunning accommodation in Rarotonga /?mibextid=Zxz2cZ Just saying! The tears started flowing as truths and aspirations were envoked in this beautiful video… The Te Kuneroa collection was a KN iteration of the evolution of Māori clothing… told through several era’s… it was a story of what we made/make and will make and wear as Māori and how these processes were/are and will be effected by social and environmental impacts. My friend card has been well and truly clipped with Miriama. I asked her to step in to curate the flow and narrate the story being told in her "James Earl Jones" signature tone… Miriama is one of those friends who calls, txts, and turns up on your doorstep just when you need her, she creates safe and quiet places to look after one’s Hauora (well-being) and she is a loyal and staunch supporter of our entire whānau and everything we care about… Miri called upon Rangi Matāmua again to ensure our pūrākau was tika, and we’re so grateful to him for always sharing his knowledge and learnings 🤍🤍🤍 Full story on KN FB

To celebrate independence, ambition, and influence, for our Autumn ‘26 issue we partnered with @lexus_newzealand to shine a spotlight on six women shaping the future of business, style, and success across fashion and design. Their stories echo the daring innovation of the all-new Lexus RZ and its pioneering Yoke steering wheel: a symbol of control, precision, and reimagined direction. KIRI NATHAN - FASHION DESIGNER “Internal power, or mana, is being vulnerable, facing uncomfortable situations, and giving everything for kaupapa and others while knowing my whānau and chosen tribe have my back. That support allows me to be fearless.” Read our full conversation at the link in bio.
