When the opportunity to have a garden party at Buckingham Palace to celebrate 50 years as the UK’s leading youth charity arose, there was only one thing to do: put young people at the heart of it. Something we’ve done since 1976.
Planning for today began last year, when young creatives were given the floor to imagine what a ‘youth takeover’ at Buckingham Palace could look like. These ideas became reality, and today our young people brought the garden to life with their incredible skills and talents, making this a 50th anniversary celebration like no other.

From £7,400 in Royal Navy severance pay to a movement that has supported over 1.3 million young people and generated at least £11.4 billion of social value - our story is one of determination, resilience, and hope.
For 50 years, The King’s Trust has helped young people build confidence, gain skills, and move into work, education, or training.
Today, the challenges may have changed, but our mission remains the same: to ensure no young person is held back by unemployment

Freaky Friday?! 🫣
Earlier this week at ‘A King’s Trust Celebration’, The King and Queen traded places with @AntAndDec for a moment on stage to celebrate the charity’s 50th anniversary.
His Majesty began the charity, as Prince of Wales, in 1976 with the aim of improving the lives of disadvantaged young people in the UK. Since then, The @KingsTrust has supported over 1.3 million young people in the UK – and even more across the world with @KingsTrustInternational .
Ant and Dec have supported The Trust for 25 years, partnering with the charity to help the next generation develop skills for the media industry and find jobs and training opportunities.

His Majesty was joined by a host of other alumni of The Trust, including Christan, who completed a @creativefuturesofficial course and has continued to DJ!
Christian brought all the vibes and beats to close out an amazing day.
