5 years on, and âThrough The Wallâ is finally out. Itâs been hidden away - living on USBs and private SoundCloud links, circulating among close friends, and appearing only in fleeting moments in living rooms, bedrooms, and kitchens at the end of nights.
We made it during a dark point in both our lives, set against the backdrop of the second Uk lock down in February winter - physically isolating from one another in our rooms.
There was no intention, but no hesitation or discussion in what we were doing. As best mates, with house full of friends who were locked into the process, there was a reduction of inhibition. We developed a code or formula for the work, that led to the album forming within a week.
For us itâs a deeply personal body of work, that still brings us back to that period in time, and the experience shared creating it:
Claustrophobic stillness, red LED pressed into a living room choked with smoke machine. A blurred haze of fading memory, snatches of feeling that substitute for the eroded visually accurate moment, creating something that will last longer than our recall.
