Tapered head tube file guides! The mitred cuts for the tapered head tube were always gonna be hard work. I’d tried a few testers cutting the minor diameter out with holesaw and flaring out with a file and paper template but could never get it as tight as I’d liked. Seen this technique a year or so ago and thought I’d give it a try. Imported the @paragonmachine head tube file to @shapr3dapp sketched in the geometry my tubes hit the headtube, created a block with the respective tube diameter cut out the middle and used the planes of the headtube to cut my block!! So simple and super quick to do. 16hrs later and I got some file guides! Made the face with the X equal to the phase blocks to help keep the mitred in phase. Tube ends were rough cut with a grinder and it’s literally 5 mins with some files to get a pretty good result!

Pushing on with some of my own work in the shop amongst the fabrication, some beautiful @butefabrics samples arrived. Making a small run of stools very similar to the one for @designexhibitionscotland and will be chipping away at this over the next month or so along with the bicycle frame. Super exciting!!
