moment of reflection: a year ago today, 8/26/24 I was rounding out week 6 of my jumping program in PT with @harknesscenterfordanceinjuries . So often I’m looking to the future, so pressed & eager to be “booked & busy” but I’ve grown to take pride in the waiting season and the joy I find in pursuit of my craft! There’s so many blessings in the in between. So shoutouts to me! I’ve been working, playing & resting hard! I’m so proud of how far I’ve come mentally and physically since my meniscus tear.

Throwback to the most unique process from audition, rehearsal to performance! Twas literally a dream come true getting to rage on top of ginormous speakers, working with live music, dancing with art installations, lifting heavy glass and literally breaking the proverbial glass ceiling for three days! Plus another full circle moment performing on the high line where I had visited as a tourist before moving to nyc. WOW!

It took me five ever to post about this because I knew I had injured myself towards the end of the process & once I got the official news of my torn meniscus, I paid it all together and went m.i.a. Ya girl was in mourning and grief can truly isolate you; sometimes forgetting to be grateful for what was…So yeah, I’m doubling back 3 whole years later to reminisce on how blessed I am to have experienced this with some fire ass femmes. Alexis, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this work! Miss you and this cast real baddd 🫂
