Kayode Ojo (
@kayodeojo ) has brought a bit of magic to the mountain with his installation for Powder Art Foundation (
@powderartfoundation ), an organization that commissions artworks across Powder Mountain (
@powdermountain ), giving skiers and snowboarders moments of wonder in the most unexpected places.
Ojo’s piece introduces a surreal glimmer to the mountainside, catching the eye of passersby who might do a double take at the sparkle in the trees. Known for working with faux luxury objects like jewelry, furniture, and mirrors to examine how digital culture shapes desire, this marks his first large-scale outdoor installation. The work creates a poetic feedback loop. Chandeliers historically drew inspiration from nature, echoing branching trees, vines, and drops of dew. Here, Ojo returns those abstracted forms to the forest that inspired them in the first place, a quiet reminder that moments of wonder can appear anywhere, even on a ski run.
