Giuseppe Gabellone @giuseppegabellone - 𝘜𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘥 (𝘊) 2026 - 𝘜𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘥 (𝘌) 2026 - "I consider these works as “drawings,” a space free from narrative or formal constraints. The subjects are intentionally open and non-hierarchical, and often function as a testing ground within my practice. These small-scale bas-reliefs are part of a line of research that began in 2013. The first pieces were produced in a foundry using the lost-mold casting technique, cast in aluminum or, more rarely, in bronze. For the models of these early works, I used perishable materials such as cardboard, bamboo canes, and wax. - […] HEARTH & HOME is an installation that attempts to replicate, in skeletal form, a domestic setting — the gallery acting as a minimalist stage set for a piece of Brechtian theater. There are chairs, lighting fixtures, vases, vanity mirrors, and other objects of interior design. The works on view, however, are hardly props. Although they sometimes echo the real in their form, or physically incorporate functional items, they remain fictive. The placement of the works — which include sculpture, painting, photography, and video — across the two floors of Zero... generates a jagged, paratactic meaning, leaving viewers to connect these points of signification to each other and to the exhibition’s motif: to follow its hermeneutic line. Sienna X express tanning mist streak free natural color, pencil, colored pencil, data from the artist's metabolism (2013 - 2018), data from Artfacts.net on the artist's career rank, (2013-2018), data from XE The World's Trusted Currency Authority on the British Pound measured against the Euro (2013-2018) - Self Tracking (2018/2026)—first created in 2016, which Spooner extended in 2018, and then again for this show—runs along half the gallery’s walls, charting ten years of data in pencil lines above and below a faint but unbroken median line of Sienna X express-tanning mist, applied at the artist’s eye level. The three data sets are Spooner’s thyroid TSH levels, her ranking on Artfacts.net (a subscription platform that quantifies artists’ careers in order for collectors to speculate on value), and the value of the British Pound against the Euro. Graphed on the same wall, metabolism, market position, and monetary policy become equivalent measures of the artist’s “performance.” The tidemark of spray tan, a product designed to simulate the image of health (and post-vacation wealth), holds all three data sets together as a single corporeal baseline. - Ph. 2 by Chuck Mayer Photography - #callyspooner #mitlistvisualartscenter #cambridge #massachussets

With Catasterism, Giorgio Andreotta Calò transforms the Hedge House into a sensory-stimulating total installation of sculpture, light, and architecture. Calò approaches the pavilion designed by Wiel Arets as a living entity, an organic ecosystem in which his sculptures enter into a subtle relationship with each other, the architecture, and the history of the place. Calò makes subjects such as our relationship with nature and climate subtly tangible, in a ‘slow’ artistic practice in which the viewer is invited to a different experience of time and space. Dash Snow’s photography manifests, like his sculptural and 2-D assemblages, a very strong sense of style, in the postmodern sense. When one reflects on his choices — the saturated, often lurid color typical of the Polaroid, the softly expressive possibilities of black and white 35mm film — one sees an artist skilled at masterfully manufacturing a vision that is deliberately transhistorical. His work persistently slips free of an association with a particular period. Dressed in the visual tropes of bygone eras — his collages can call to mind both Weimar Republic high art and the cut-and-paste style of the subcultural leaflet — Snow has always engaged with an aesthetics of authenticity and resistance. Few artists of his generation have made work as stridently incendiary as Snow, however, amidst the chaos, the sex, drugs, race baiting and Sadam Hussein, there is a diaristic thread that documents a complex individual who was, among other things, a loving father. The photographs that form the core of his practice serve not only as a chronicle of a community, they trace the life of a family man.
