i spent the end of 2024 road tripping across the country and documenting indian-american communities in different states. some of the work i made is now up on the @npr website (link in my bio!). this was the coolest experience ever and i have a lot more work that i will continue to share. thank you to @ebogle_selects for the edit on the npr site/all of the guidance! and a biiiiig thank you to anyone that helped me through this whole process (shoutout @jacksonkrule and his patience lol) and everyone i met along the way!
Indian-Americans have become a powerful voting bloc, and I’ve been photographing the community’s efforts to mobilize voters through different states. Through cultural events and grassroots organizing, there’s a strong sense of trust and unity driving this impactful movement. The community is far from being politically monolithic, and my photos aim to reflect this complexity. Some of my work is now up on @_thejuggernaut which is exciting!! link in their bio!
These photos are part of a larger project where I’m documenting the Indian-American community throughout the country. This series is in progress and aims to highlight the intersection of cultural preservation and assimilation, showing how these communities navigate spaces of both privilege and invisibility. So basically, much more work to come!
thank you to everybody that has helped me so far, whether it was helping with edits, connecting me with community members, or just general advice.
photos from the “Bikes Move Us” closing reception. thank you @nalie_don.t for sharing your work with the world and letting us all be a part of this day✨
