Really interesting to chat to the Arctic 30 - Greenpeace activists who, in 2013, set out to occupy a Arctic oil rig and ended up spending months in Russian prison - for Guardian What’s On. The new BBC doc about their experience is very good if you like grainy footage of balaclava-clad soldiers and thinking too much about the horrifying ties between politics and climate change
It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for… I’m returning to Instagram to post links to my work.
For @britishgq , I chatted to Jodie Foster about the True Detective finale, dinners with Fiona Shaw and awful subreddits. The link’s in my bio :)
Talked to the @sugababes about their comeback, and the sabotage(!!) and manipulation they’ve had to overcome to get to this point, for my old pals @timeoutlondon 💖
Had lunch with Carol Vorderman to celebrate her spot on this year’s Vogue 25 list and had an impossibly fun time chatting relationships, politics and her double Rear of the Year win. Could not love her more. Link in bio :)

Every morning, when the weather permits, Ruth Rose goes for a brisk swim in the English Channel. It’s a habit the vivacious 90-year-old, from East Sussex, started during a period of transformation: at 81 she underwent gender-reaffirming surgery, making her the oldest person in the UK to transition. The decision was a long time coming. Rose had known she identified as female as young as nine, but had lived as a man until she divorced and retired in the early 2000s. “It was an adventure that crept up on me all my life,” she says of transitioning. Her aim for the next few years? To support research, at King’s College Hospital, into end of life and dementia care for patients who are trans. “I’m probably one of the first transgender people to reach old age. I’ve got to be the person that sets that all up,” she says.
A big Pride spesh!
