I also had the chance to chat with
@leanneperoofficial , founder of
@blackwomenrisinguk , about the challenges of building awareness around the shortfalls in the medical profession when it comes to proper diagnoses for Black women, and the ongoing struggle to secure funding for vital awareness work.
I’ll be honest — the word cancer still scares me, and I can feel hesitant to be too involved. But we have to break the stigma somehow. What they’re building is powerful, necessary, and community-driven.
