Returning to the Olympic Games — this time in a different role, and with a different responsibility. Serving as the Appointed Skater to the Ice Dance Technical Committee is both an honour and a weight I carry with deep care.
Figure skating and those who love it deserve the best. Last night was evidence that there is still work to do to ensure a culture worthy of our athletes and audience.
My sincerest hope is that those who love this sport can stay in love with this sport— that the magic and brilliance of the events so far remain top of mind and at the forefront of what is possible. I continue to return to what I believe in: safe and fair sport for all, and the responsibility to keep showing up on behalf of the athletes, first and always.
I remain committed to progress — compassionately, fiercely, and with the belief that the future of ice dance can, and must, be better than its past.
