Pride. Visibility. Legacy. 🌈 Fierté. Visibilité. Héritage. Last Saturday at the EuroGames Lyon 2025 Village, @competeproud and @eurogameslyon2025 hosted a powerful bilingual conference: 🎤 Elevating the Conversation Around Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Sport / Élever la conversation sur la diversité, l’équité et l’inclusion dans le sport Moderated by Olympian and Compete Proud founder, Javier Raya, and Thibaut Gigou, Head of Inclusion at EuroGames Lyon 2025, the session brought together athletes and role models who are reshaping sport from within. 🎯 Panel 1 – French Champions 🇫🇷 🏉 Jérémy Clamy-Edroux and 🏊‍♂️ Jérémy Stravius shared how their journeys have challenged stereotypes and opened doors for more inclusive representation in French sport. ♿ Panel 2 – Inclusion in Sport 🎿 Jordan Broisin and 🦿 Dimitri Pavadé reflected on accessibility, resilience, and what inclusion really means — as para athletes and advocates for change. ❄️ Panel 3 – Pride House & the Olympic and Paralympic Games ⛸️ Lewis Gibson and 🏑 Nikki Symmons looked ahead to Milano Cortina 2026 — exploring the role Pride House plays in making global sporting events safe, visible, and proud. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ This wasn’t just a conversation — it was a call to action. From grassroots to Games, let’s build a sporting world where everyone belongs. #BeProud @competeproud

🏳️‍🌈 IDAHOBIT - Visibility matters in sport. For too long, too many LGBTIQ+ athletes have felt pressured to hide who they are, stay silent, or navigate sport without role models they can identify with. Representation changes lives. When athletes are visible, supported, and respected, sport becomes safer and more inclusive for everyone, especially for younger generations wondering if they truly belong. That is why Proud Champions exists: to build a network of athletes and allies committed to a sport where diversity is not hidden, but celebrated. Because every athlete deserves to compete as their full self.

#FierPlay #Inclusion #Diversity #RôleModèle #LGBTdansLeSport #Courage #ImpactSocial

❤️🧡🤍🩷💜 Happy Lesbian Visibility Day Today, we celebrate the visibility, strength and leadership of lesbian women in sport and beyond. 🌍 As we mark the end of Lesbian Visibility Week, we recognise the importance of visibility in creating safer, more inclusive environments. When lesbian women are seen and heard, barriers are challenged, perceptions shift, and future generations are empowered to be themselves. 💛 At Proud Champions, we believe sport is stronger when every woman can compete authentically, safely and with dignity. 🤝 We celebrate this day with Nikki Symmons 🇮🇪, former international field hockey player and LGBTQIA+ advocate. As the first female athlete in Ireland to publicly come out, Nikki has helped pave the way for greater visibility and understanding. Through her work at Compete Proud, she continues to empower communities and create spaces where athletes can thrive as their true selves, leading the Proud Champions network. 🌈 Together, we continue to build a sporting world where lesbian women are visible, valued and supported. Be visible.
Be proud.

The IOC is introducing mandatory genetic screening and excluding trans women from women’s competitions. These measures do not protect women. They expose women, particularly trans and intersex people, to procedures widely criticised as harmful, invasive and discriminatory. As this policy will apply from the LA28 Olympic Games onwards, it marks a significant shift in the IOC’s approach to eligibility in women’s sport. Together with Fier-Play and Compete Proud, we support the statement by Sport & Rights Alliance and call for this decision to be reversed. We also call for dialogue with human rights organisations and affected communities, and remain open to sharing our expertise and contributing to inclusive, rights-based approaches in sport, building on initiatives such as Pride House · Paris 2024. Sport must remain a space of inclusion, respect and fairness for all. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ #InclusionInSport #SportForAll #HumanRights #TransRightsAreHumanRights
