The new @martyn3024 record - Music for Existing is out today! 

I’m extremely blessed and grateful to have made some contributions to this record. I’ve been a fan of Martyn’s since I first heard Mega Drive Generation on Hyperdub’s 5 Years of Hyperdub comp back in 2009. I wouldn’t have believed it back then if you’d tell me I’d end up playing on one of his records. 

I played Wurlitzer on Musa at Erbil featuring @okwongo , as well as Rhodes and Guitar on the last track on the record, When The Sleeper Wakes. Many thanks to Martyn for asking me to be a part of this monumental record, bridging the gap between the hardcore continuum and his love of jazz. I’m sitting amongst an incredible cast of musicians who made contributions to this as well: Duval Timothy, Lucinda Chua, Mark Cisneros, Mischa Porte, Cees Bruinsma, Musa Okwonga – and I’m thankful to be a part of it.

And as always @jeroen_erosie has created a totally distinct and unique look for the album with his 3D cement structures. Love following the visual journey of the label as well.

This World is Not Our Home EP by @kingo_halla and myself is officially out in the world. 

Henry and I first started making music together back in 2022. Our first collaboration, Growing Pains, landed on his Reflections EP in 2024. This marked the beginning of our sonic worlds fusing; a melding of spiritual, psychedelic and soulful sounds, all wrapped up in one. 

The bones of this new record started to form as early as spring of 2023, and by the end of 2024 we had crafted 5 songs that would go on to become This World is Not Our Home. A fluid, and natural process, these songs created themselves before our very eyes. It’s a magical feeling when you can surrender yourself to the creative process and trust that the sonic explorations will guide you where they need to. I’m extremely blessed to have been able to share that process with @kingo_halla – no guidelines, only feelings and intuition to shape the outcome. It was easy to let go, trust each other, and not overthink decisions along the way, and I think that’s felt in the final product. Also incredible blessed to have had my sonic brother in arms @grayroycerowan craft Praises to the Mother with us. We let the songs simmer for almost a year before putting the final touches on them this past fall/winter. Proud of what we were able to accomplish with these.
