first time i shot 16mm on a bolex was also the first time the lab dunked my roll into some funky chemicals that warped all the colors in the middle 🌀 but somehow the exact points where the colors disappear & return were on beat, as if done purposefully, and i took it all as a sign

over a couple of sunny morning hours, patty and i spoke about our upbringings in the bay area and her latest photobook discoveries in between portraits. patty’s work as an artist — spanning performance, installation, video — was particularly so inspiring when i discovered her work at the queen’s museum in 2017. a couple images from her performance work (“in love” & “fountain”) at the end~
