Reshaping the narrative: tailoring. What does tailoring mean in fashion? To many, it’s an immediate call to menswear, which I’m so often associated with. But, for me, tailoring is freedom. Because tailoring is form. A form-ing, if you will. The way we form a garment on the body. The way we form our own bodies. A world in form has so much potential to generate. I first met Kartik when he started @kartikresearch . I was in search of new and interesting ideas for @rizahmed and Kartik was a fresh light, doing something different to anyone else. Since then, he and I have traveled together through India, showed on the Paris calendar and launched womenswear. Needless to say, this LVMH Prize nomination is very exciting.
