Couldn’t be prouder to be on the journey with this very special artist and human. @ella_maddux “Thanks For Never Asking” is out today. Big thanks to @averythebright for the beautiful string love, to @mickrob23 for his tasteful guitar work, and @jackrnellis for the killer mix. And most of all, to my good buddy Ella Maddux for allowing us all to make beautiful music with her.

To call this a poem might be an overstatement. But I wrote this yesterday morning over a cup of coffee after a beautiful time with family, contemplating a hard year—one in which we lost our mother; our matriarch, and one of the most incredible women to walk the earth. If by chance, this helps any of you gain perspective as we approach the end of a year and beginning of another.

I loved every second creating music with @odhranmurphymusic for his new single, “Dance To You All Night”. And I loved every single Guinness we drank while we were doing it. (It’s definitely true, the Irish sing better after a few pints;) The musicality that flows from this dudes hands onto the guitar and the effortless ease with which he sings is inspiring to watch. I am very grateful he asked me to work on this incredible EP with him. Thank you, @odhranmurphymusic you’re a hell of an artist and an even better guy. Thank you to all the musicians who played on this track; @dickthegentleman @ilyanash @kriskrisdonegan @lexprice . Big thanks to my buddy @reidsorel for dialing in great sounds tracking and jumping in on the mix with me. And thank you to my long time friend, the legend @joepisapia for being gracious enough to let us use his beautiful room to make music.

@ella_maddux debut single, Betting Woman” is out today. A year and a half ago this brave woman trusted me and jumped in headfirst, leaving San Diego bound for Nashville, to write some songs, record, and see what we could come up with. As good as I thought she was the first time I heard her, I had zero clue how great she REALLY was. Now she has exceeded my expectations on every single level. “Betting Woman” is the first of a brilliant body of work she has amassed over the last year and a half as a result of her hard work, patience, and world class talent. I am proud to know this powerful woman and couldn’t be more excited to sit back as a spectator to the amazing journey that is to come. Thank you @emilykfalvey for jumping in with us on this track. You always deliver! Thank you @mickrob23 for tossing some sick guitar riffs on this track and to @jackrnellis for slaying this mix and having the intestinal fortitude deal with my obsessive creative compulsions. Thank you, @kassidymccorkle for jumping in and bringing excitement and belief to the team! And the biggest of thank yous to @jonmaddx and @marissam1012 for entrusting me with this monumental leap off the cliff!

Excited about the @darrenkielymusic single, “Bound”, that’s ready to drop! Thanks @jordanlehning for letting me pull up with my pal @reidsorel to throw some raucous upright piano on this track. (A little sloppy but don’t judge, this wasn’t the take😬)

I guess it’s about time to tell you…that 2 years ago, my brother Bryan and I partnered with our good friend @ilyanash to bring back the legendary Ernest Tubb Record Shop and reimagine it for the next chapter of its historical Nashville existence. Words can’t describe how honored we are to be stewards of such a beloved piece of music history that is so important to the city of Nashville. We are ecstatic as well, that Dale Tubb, grandson of Ernest, @ernest_tubb3rd has joined forces with us as a partner. What an honor this has been to have that connect to the family’s legacy directly imbued into this project. We began the renovation process a year ago and are coming close to completion of the now 15,000 sq/ft, 5 story building, which will feature 2 Broadway level bars, the record shop, a 175 cap intimate venue, an exclusive VIP club, and a rooftop bar. We look forward to starting back, the Midnite Jamboree with regular artist performances, supporting artists with featured record releases, and so much more. Can’t wait to see all of you this fall to celebrate! • • @ernesttubbrecordshop #tuskbrothersentertainment @dryden_studio @perkybros @thinkrngd @brnd.house @jennspeaks

So grateful to be part of this album project, Nightdiving (Cost of Growing Up) out today. 21 tracks that truly are an imprint in time and a life stamp for one of my favorite dudes, @maxmcnown . I’m so grateful to all the writers, players, engineers, who were a part of this body of work. @randombrandonebel , you’re a machine and I love watching you work and working with you. Max, mad respect for your focus to make this a work of art that was authentic to you. You could have done it a million other ways, and it would have been easier. Thank you for trusting me to paddle the gondola. Love ya.

I love writing a love song with an artist who is actually in love:) “This Side of Heaven” is out, and it’s one of my favorite @maxmcnown vocals on this project. Thanks to @trentdabbs for dropping by the studio to write another gorgeous one with us. Thank you to all the players who brought it to life and to @alexghenea , one of the kindest souls and best mixers on the planet. Thank you as always, @brandonebel for being one of the first dudes I find it difficult to work harder than. Max…that coal miner’s jawline distracts folks from how hard you work and how much time you put into your craft every day. Can’t happen without that. Hope you all enjoy this one. I miss you every day. Don’t know how something so monumental is so normal. But I see more of you now. I see more of you in me now. And I see so many things around me that I never knew were there because of you. I don’t know what I’d be without my sister and brother. I don’t know who I’d be without the music you gave me. The way I see the world was burned into my soul by you; the things I value, purpose, authenticity, people…the wonder and curiosity. I have a hole that will never be filled, and though the pain seems unimaginably hard to overcome, it is dwarfed by the awareness I have been gifted from the loss. Thank you so much. I wish I had thanked you more. I am so sorry I didn’t. But you did everything never expecting that anyway. You were one of a kind and I count the days until I can talk to you again.

One of my personal favorites that I had the pleasure of writing with @maxmcnown . I still get goosebumps when I hear this one. Thank you @jasonnixmusic for sharing your brilliant mind to help create this one as well as that gorgeous acoustic guitar hook that sets the mood perfectly. Thank you as always, Max for being such a hard worker and committing yourself to honor these songs; keep going little brother and “do not become weary of doing good”. Thank you @randombrandonebel and team for working tirelessly for Max and all that he puts his hands to.
