I’m incredibly proud to announce that “Woven Violin”, a playable Kontakt instrument made from my very own violin playing, is finally arriving next Friday, 1/31.
Created in partnership with the incredible team at
@somerville_sounds and guided by the creative vision of my friend
@meyerjon , the instrument features a wide variety of playable solo violin articulations, including swells, phrases, spiccatos, pizzicatos, drones, harmonics, and “chatter”, all carefully recorded at my studio over the last 12 months.
In addition to each articulation (the swells, harmonics, and phrases are my personal favorites), “Woven Violin” features rich multi-layering capabilities, enabling you to weave layers of articulations together, creating almost endless combinations of unique string textures.
In 2022, Jon and I released a prototype instrument called “Woven Strings” - it quickly became one of the top downloaded instruments on Pianobook as well as Jon’s most downloaded prototype, spurring the idea to develop a full instrument with more articulations, control, round robins, etc. “Woven Violin” is the fruit of this effort.
So excited to share this with the world - see you next Friday!
