The Beechwood Residence was conceived as a thoughtful urban infill home rooted in both family connection and historic context. Built on a narrow lot with a steep grade, the design responds by organizing the home in a linear progression from the backyard to the street, creating a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor living. At its heart, the kitchen, dining, and family spaces are intentionally intertwined to support cooking, gathering, and everyday life, while a screened porch and strong connection to the back patio extend these moments outdoors. Material selections and interior details balance durability with character, reflecting the needs of a growing family alongside a refined aesthetic. Engineered flooring made from reclaimed wood brings warmth and resilience, while custom tile, expressive wallpaper, and vibrant fixtures introduce moments of color and personality against a neutral backdrop. Architecture, Interior Design, FF&E: @dryden._studio Contractor: @hammondbrandt Tile: @haustileco

This residence presented a unique set of challenges. The project’s goal was to fully transform the existing home without expanding its footprint. Originally designed in a Mediterranean style and altered over time with several incongruous additions, the home required a thoughtful and cohesive redesign. Careful attention was given to reshaping rooflines, refining window and door openings, and updating exterior materials and detailing to create a unified, modern aesthetic. A complete interior reconfiguration, paired with a comprehensive landscape overhaul, complements the architectural updates and supports the new owners’ ambitious functional and design goals. The result is a striking, cohesive home that feels both contemporary and naturally connected to its surroundings. Special thanks to @jglandscapearchitect for the beautiful landscape architecture, @kingdombuildersoftn for the fine construction, and @bureauinteriordesign for the exquisite interior design and decor!

Fresh ingredients. Handmade tile. East Nashville doing what it does best. 🌿 When @dryden_studio set out to design the space for @radisheats , the intention was clear — the room should feel as clean, local, and thoughtfully considered as the food on the plate. The result? A custom ombré across @redrocktileworks Precision Field, moving from Laurel Lake into Dublin — a gradient as quiet and deliberate as the menu itself. Dryden brought the vision. Radish brings the food. Red Rock brings the clay. All of it, rooted right here in Nashville. 🙏 Food: @radisheats Tile: @redrocktileworks 2x8 Precision field in Laurel Lake and Dublin Design: @dryden_studio Mural: @maggie_sanger Photo: @danielle.holbert #RedRockTileworks #MadeInNashville #CustomTile #OmbreTile #EastNashville

A moment for the stairs! Where structure meets sculpture, stairs can turn transitional spaces into standout moments. Each step is designed with intention, bringing together form, material, design, and light to elevate space and experience. More than just a way to move through a building, these designs create a sense of flow and quiet impact throughout.

The vision behind Waymore’s was to create warm, welcoming community spaces that truly captured and honored the spirit of a hotel rooted in the heart of East Nashville. We collaborated closely with the client to develop the full program for the lobby and terrace, and contributed to the kitchen layout to support the food and beverage experience. In the lobby, we created a relaxed, eclectic environment that felt like stepping into a lived-in artist’s loft. Cozy, approachable, and full of character, we invoked the spirit of the 1970s, drawing on the rich visual and cultural language of Americana, folk, country, and classic rock music. Central to the concept was a lounge-like atmosphere with a casual all-day café and a focal-point bar that seamlessly connected to the reception, transforming what was originally a raw, unfinished space. You’ll find sheer curtains here that soften the expansive windows, creating a cozy sense of enclosure, while glazed tile cladding adds warmth to exposed, structural concrete pillars. The concrete slab floors ground the space, complemented by a carefully curated mix of new and vintage furniture pieces that add character and comfort. The bar features rich douglas fir wood paired with striking green verde marble, blending natural textures with a refined palette. Collaborators: @oasisdesign.studio@redrocktileworks@haustileco@mesa_tn@waymoresnashville@dowdleconstruction

Central to the thesis of the Voce neighborhood’s plan is communion with nature. The common house, pictured here, sits as a lantern atop a hill. It’s emerging from the dense forest that longs to engulf it. Despite its natural surroundings, it is central in the neighborhood, providing a place for community gatherings. Here, relationships between neighbors can be strengthened over a cup of coffee brewed in the small kitchen while sitting in the screened porch, enjoying the sounds of the singing birds. On Spring nights like these, a fire might be ideal. A steel-clad fireplace serves as an anchor to an arrangement of outdoor lounge seating. The space is simple and flexible, able to accommodate its users’ needs. We love creating spaces that bring people together and form community. We hope the common house proves fruitful in this endeavor!

Serving as an example of industrial, adaptive reuse, this former truck terminal was transformed into a super arcade and bar. For this mixed-use development, architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture were integrated to create a headquarters for Turf Care Landscapes, Music City Pinball, and Game Terminal. An exercise in skin studies, corrugated metal panels with various opacities, orientations, and colors create a dynamic sense of play reminiscent of the games housed inside. All architectural features contribute to the sense of play, from the brightly painted conduits and railings to the bar’s back wall, which appears to change color based on the onlooker’s position. Inside, windows from the game room give players a view into the repair shop. Outside, a new egress staircase and retail entry are highlighted with a chrome, slatted enclosure. The result is a complete transformation from an industrial site to an immersive, exciting gathering space.

The 18th Avenue Townhome development brings luxurious living to a prime property in Nashville. Located across the street from the arboreal green space of the Scarritt-Bennett Center and adjacent to the hustle and bustle of Music Row, the development consists of 13 units arranged in a group of three buildings, each organized around a long, narrow green space. Seven units have three stories, and 6 have four stories, all featuring top-floor covered balconies. The buildings are clad in matte and glossy black brick with nickel-colored metal siding accents. Large, expansive windows complete the modern, crisp palette. The underside of the balconies and canopies is clad in natural-finish spruce, adding splashes of warmth. The interiors have modern open kitchens featuring stainless steel appliances and islands with waterfall countertops. All units have four bedrooms with expansive views through oversized glazing.

The Cummings Residence is a generational farmhouse built to last. This new family home was designed as a forever place for kids to grow up and grandkids to come home to. Set on their land, the house itself turns inward, embracing a cozy, family-focused feel within a classic four-square, symmetrical layout. A double-height white oak–clad foyer makes a warm first impression, echoed by white oak paneling, arched openings, reclaimed pine floors, and dark pine beams throughout. Shaker-inspired millwork and custom furnishings pay homage to heritage craftsmanship, grounding the home in tradition while keeping the aesthetic refined and livable. Thoughtful, deeply personal details, like the dining room’s expansive personalized mural, layer in narrative and meaning at every turn. Each space was designed to feel warm, welcoming, and quietly enduring. This home is a reminder that truly timeless design is rooted in comfort, connection, and legacy! The Hilltop Residence exemplifies our process’s harmonious integration of architecture, interiors, and landscape. The team’s goal was to work with the bones of the existing house while still transforming it stylistically and aesthetically. The home features two-story bay windows at the entry and exit, framing amazing panoramic city views like artwork. Large openings blur the line between interior and exterior. Open spaces flooded with light and stunning views are complemented by a plethora of finely crafted details: sliver views connecting public spaces, a refined take on a traditional steel stair handrail, wood paneling at select locations, a wood-clad fireplace framed by floor-to-ceiling windows, and an infinity pool with an edge that visually cascades into the city below. This home is a prime example of how beauty and creativity can still take center stage through adaptive reuse, not just through a new build. At the heart of The Catbird Seat is a central bar concept that offers every guest a seat at the chef’s table, reinforcing intimacy and connection. Overhead, a backlit bird’s-eye maple installation introduces warmth and delicacy. Light wood tones like white oak, birch, and maple are paired with Tennessee pink marble countertops and a variegated bar front that evokes a forest of trees. Wax-plastered walls, sheer curtains, and antique brass lighting contribute to a soft, inviting ambiance. A quiet, analogous color palette throughout allows the dishes themselves to provide vibrancy, ensuring the cuisine remains the focal point of the experience. A separate wine bar and lounge area features green marble surfaces, tan leather seating, and light oak stools, offering a relaxed setting for drinks before dinner. Built-in wardrobes display the chef’s fermented creations, while large aggregate floor tiles reference rocky soil suited for growth, subtly tying materiality to culinary craft. Interior Design/FF&E: @dryden_studio Owner/Developer: @strategichospitality General Contractor: @powellnashville Structural Engineer: @emcnashville Shell Architect: @manuelzeitlinarchitects

A quick glimpse into a few of our favorite hospitality projects. Shaped by a deep commitment to creative partnership, we believe the strongest work emerges from close collaboration with the artists, craftspeople, and clients we work alongside. Each project begins with a careful analysis of the site and a clear understanding of our collaborators’ intent, allowing us to create spaces that are not only beautiful and functional but also intellectually stimulating. Rather than arriving with a prescribed design solution, we develop a shared design language with our clients, one that gives voice to their vision and results in places that feel authentic, purposeful, and alive! 1 - The Memphian | Memphis, TN 2 - Soho House Nashville | Nashville, TN 3 - Waymore’s Guest House | Nashville, TN 4 - Noelle | Nashville, TN 5 - The Wayback | Pigeon Forge, TN 6 - Drift Hotel | Nashville, TN
