Have you seen the new art along Booker Creek Trail? Artist Jackie Sanders (@jsandersstudio ) just completed our first storm drain mural of the year. “This mural presents a bold, geometric interpretation of how water moves through our environment, transforming an often-overlooked storm drain into a visual story about connection and flow,” Jackie says. “Using layered color blocks, directional linework, and simplified environmental forms, the design illustrates key moments in the water cycle: rainfall, absorption, movement through soil, and eventual return to local waterways.” Technology, infrastructure, and nature all contributed to Jackie’s experience creating this mural. 🔊 Listen to learn more about her process!

Watch artwork in progress! 🎨 The first Town-sponsored mural in Downtown Holly Springs is taking shape on Rogers Street. Located on a brick enclosure between The Block on Main and Town Hall Commons, a vibrant new mural will highlight the community and celebrate what makes Holly Springs unique. The mural is the work of Raleigh-based artist Jackie Sanders and is expected to be completed by the end of May. Check out the latest renderings and learn more at hollyspringsnc.gov/mural

This mural is one day away from being finished, and there have been so many people, experiences, joys, and hours spent with this brick wall. It’s an honor to paint the building that has been my studio home for the last four years, for the second time (I painted the branded entrance a few years ago) and to do it in honor and partnership with the breweries that are part of my home, in so many senses. Thank you to @pickettbrewing @wicostreetbeerco @checkerspotbrewing and @m8beerco for creating and sustaining @sobo_brewery_district ! We know that there is no shortage of artists in the area, and we want to serve as many artists as we can with subsidized studio space, while also giving them time to develop their practice and build relationships in the community. These 7 artists will be completing their term on June 30.
