Please join us for the opening reception of TWO DAYS this Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 5 to 9 pm in conjunction with BROMO Art Walk.
Two Days is an exhibition conceived around two cities, Baltimore and New York. In 1901, the Baltimore Orioles were sold to New York and became the New York Highlanders. In 1913 they were renamed the Yankees. The two cities are linked together through baseball—America’s pastime. TWO DAYS explores the relationship between the two cities, their histories and heritage. It serves to celebrate the legacy of the East Coast and an ever-evolving relationship between Baltimore and New York.
The artists included have substantial relationships with both Baltimore and New York. The relationships include place of residence (past or present), family, education, teaching, and exhibiting. The artists were selected based on the uniqueness of their work and their respect for materiality and visual language. All share an interest in poetics that is driven by physical adventure and structural understanding. While there may be similarities in some of the works, the show was not conceived with a particular aesthetic or common idea. The intention is to introduce a group of artists with individual vision currently working in two nearby cities. Rather than being on two separate teams—the Orioles and the Yankees, the artists are on one team, bound together by purpose and place.
The exhibition is curated by the artists Jim Condron and Glenn Goldberg. Jim lives and works in Baltimore and New York and Glenn is a lifelong New Yorker. Both have exhibited and taught in the Baltimore and New York areas.
