Floating over a white frame, this piece is a testimony to the impact that our Brother Nipsey Hussle continues to have on our world. Last year @patricecameau invited me to participate in the #Ermias exhibit at her beautiful @campspaces located in Hyattsville, MD.
This was my first introduction to his full body of work. I wanted to learn more about Nipsey before I completed a painting of him. I found that his interviews were even more compelling than his music. He taught a lot about hustling and having your own. I learned about vertical integration from him before I heard it from any business lecture.
Nipsey Hussle's death was tragic but if there was something positive to be taken from his untimely demise, it's that it opened up more people to him and his amazing mind.
This past year since completing my first Nipsey piece, has been amazing for me artistically. This year Patrice will have another show at Campspace so please visit @campspaces to find out more.

I use this piece to bring attention to the otherworldly nature of the Black Woman. Even though the Black Woman is the ultimate trendsetter and Mother Earth, she posseses this extraterrestrial quality in her appearance, personality, and mannerisms. Everything about her is unlike anything else in this realm.

Happy 21st Birthday to my favorite daughter. To watch you grow from a baby girl to a beautiful, intelligent young woman has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Enjoy adulthood my girl.
I want to wish my oldest son Trajan a Happy Birthday. This young man opened my eyes to the true power of God. His 25 year journey to this day has not been an easy one. He achieved every milestone despite what the doctors said or believed. Through his strength, I learned that I can be stronger. Despite every obstacle I've faced, there are none bigger than what he's endured.
I want to thank his mother for all of her sacrifices. There is so much that goes into raising a child with special needs. I also want to thank her husband Chris for accepting Tra as his own and being an amazing man. Lastly, I want to thank my Momma and Big Sister for being ever present with Trajan all these years.
I know I'm getting long-winded (and emotional) so I'll just end here. Happy 25th Birthday Trajan Flowers.
