Colossal stone figures, seemingly carved from bricks inlaid into the mountain, seek comfort arm in arm as if in mutual possession of one another. The gentler figure rests her head upon the shoulders of the robust form, both of their heads obscured above the clouds. The terrain is stripped of trees and dense foliage found at lower altitudes. Cool, humid air drifts across the cliffside, where rills shimmer and gather, promising streams that will one day flow down the rocks

Elegance

Elegance is one of several works that features chains. The chains function with a dual purpose portraying both bonds and burdens.
I created elegance from scratch board that I made myself. It incorporates adding oil pastel to illustration board or paper then applying ink on top of that. When the ink dries, an x-acto is used to scrape away the ink revealing the color.
