I visited the Hammond Castle Museum in Gloucester, to see festive decorations by
@elainequinninteriordesign and take a tour with executive director, Linda Harvey. âDeck the Hallsâ continues through January 4, and displays more Christmas trees (and possibly more fake fruit!) than ever before throughout the nooks and crannies of inventor Jack Hammond Jr.âs castle home. Does this first photo look familiar? Hammond Jr. who fashioned the medieval-inspired castle for himself in the late 1920s was also inspired by Isabella Stewart Gardner, and designed a covered courtyard for his swimming pool (8 feet deep and tinted green) just beyond the great hall and reminiscent of Gardnerâs own courtyard. Thank you, Elaine and Linda, for a fascinating glimpse of âthe wonderful wizard of Gloucesterâsâ eccentric mansion!
