“We eat the food that comes from outside, but we’ll never abandon our traditional Hadza diet”
Anna, along with other elders, teaches the younger generation how to gather food from the forest,from foraging for wild berries, harvesting baobab fruit, or digging tubers. By passing on this knowledge, they give chance to their traditional foods, even as maize and millet from outside communities become more common.
While new foods are being introduced, the Hadzabe’s cooking traditions remain steady: meat is roasted on open flames, tubers are baked in ashes, and baobab fruits turned into a nourishing drink, reflecting their deep connection to the land.
@jaminowuor and Mathayo Mahaza brought this story to life during the Indigenous Storytelling workshop in Yaeda Valley organised by @afrisos in collaboration with @greatspineofafrica and under the mentorship of @jiganatra , @jameskydd , @georgebutlerillustration , @emma_maasai and @nelsongodfrey_@childrenofhoney.film@sonycine

Had such a great year last year and I’m grateful for all the opportunities and experiences I had. The last month has been the highlight of 2023 and the pace setter for 2024, I got to meet amazing people, work with a fantastic team, make a beautiful film and learn a lot from each other and the mentors.
We also had the privilege to stay in the beautiful @olkinyei.mara thanks to @porinicamps@drpaulakahumbu and @mohanjeetb
It made the experience 100 times better than any one of us could have dreamed of.
As I make another trip around the sun I am glad I get to do this and I hope for more and better things to come!

Out having fun taking the absolute piss in Nairobi National Park. We were lucky enough to spot the legendary George Uganda, in the wild too. True story.
Had an incredible time on a shoot in Kenya, Nairobi National Park. Thanks to @bbcstudios project songbird, @wildlifedirect@kenyawildlifeservice and @clement.wild , we managed to capture an array of species in Nairobi National Park.
In doing so, we aimed to she light on the special relationship that the park’s wildlife, landscape and people share with the bordering city and settlements.
