📣 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 I am ecstatic to step into the role of Deputy Director for the Find Your Light Foundation. Reducing the barriers of access for young people to engage with high quality arts education is critical now more than ever. Find Your Light is poised to make a sustained impact on the field of arts education across the country and it’s an honor to be a part of this exciting new chapter. Massive thanks to @joshgroban and the Groban family for this opportunity to bring their vision to life! It’s bittersweet to depart from my role as Artistic Director for the @louisarmstronghouse . It has been a rocketship of inspiration to preserve the Armstrong Legacy over the past three years. We launched a slate of new initiatives, from Armstrong Now that invites contemporary artists to create new works activating the archives, to Voices of Freedom that analyzes the role art can play as a vehicle for social change through the lens of Louis Armstrong. I will always be an advocate for the work of the Armstrong House, and have learned so much from the entire team. Regina, Ricky, Pedro, Adriana, Hyland, Charanya, Sandrine, Alexis and Junior!!! They embody Louis and Lucille’s legacy in every interaction, and it’s been an honor to work together. I feel at ease passing the torch to my dear friend, the luminous Bruce Harris. So thankful that 3 years ago Louie came into this world. He uses all of the minutes of the day to create a full life of curiosity and joy. Last year I was preparing for a gig and I pulled out my heaviest drumsticks to get warmed up. Big mistake. Those giant drumsticks are now Louie’s most beloved possession, a tool that he uses for any situation, from a Pirate’s sword, to a golf club, to a conductor’s baton. Every morning his first words are “oh where my daddy drumstick go?” The only thing he loves more than that damn drumstick is Mama and Will. Our sweet agent of chaos, Will’s formidable trickster is 3. That smile says it all!!! Happy Birthday Louie.

Yesterday “I Wish That I Could Be a Whale” was released into the world. Cover to cover you can feel all of the love and creative force that went into every detail. Making something from scratch takes time. Time is a luxury when you are also a dedicated Mother, caring friend, and the one who always says “yes, be right there!”. I have known Kate for almost 20 years, and some of our earliest conversations about our dreams and aspirations included writing and releasing a children’s book. This is a special moment watching my best friend and love’s dream come true. Here’s to the next dream!!!!! 🐋

My mom, Amy Goldbas, our beloved Catskill Queen turns 70 today! She is the greatest Mom/Grandmother out there. A fierce champion of the arts with a tremendous career that has really been a blueprint for me. Spanning from her time with Jim Henson and the Muppets in the 80’s, to her massive impact on thousands of educators across CT integrating the arts into the classroom with H.O.T. schools…I still run into people all the time who say, “you’re AMY’s SON?!” She isn’t afraid of anything (except bridges of any size) and is the only person on the planet that likes unsalted utz potato chips. Make some noise for the patient glue of our family collage, the one, the only, Meeeeech!!!!

Hey Fam! Wishing everyone a happy holiday season. Big news over here for Team Goldbas…we’re moving to Pandora! It’s a bit of an adjustment for the kiddos but Will is still loving the cello, basketball, drawing birds, etc. and Louie has been riding a bioluminescent viperwolf since we landed! Silly little guy. Last week was a dream! A dream that took a vision, a lot of hard work, an incredible team of collaborators, and the best support system. We did it! Raised $1.5M for arts education, and threw a hell of a party. ❤️ @fylfoundation ❤️ • • stills and footage from @austinkruczek + @benfinch 💥

Last year we raised the bar, AND raised $1.25M of critical funds for 189 arts education programs across the country. This year, we’re doing it again!! Deeply honored to produce this event, in an effort to meet the moment for these programs that could really use our help right now. Massive gratitude to @joshgroban and the entire Groban family for cementing this tradition and believing in me, @jdollingerinla for his brilliance and leadership at every turn, all of my friends that continue to say “yes”, and KATE for taking the helm at home during these long days. Don’t say you weren’t invited!!
