January recap 🇨🇦🇺🇸 January was a huge month of learning, racing, and new experiences. I kicked things off in Bromont, Canada for the UCI C2 track race.
@centre_national_cyclisme I raced the omnium, finishing 13th, and competed in the individual elimination, scratch, and points races, then finished the weekend racing the Madison with
@zach_webster_ . Overall, I raced well, learned a lot, and came away with mostly top 10–15 finishes against a strong field. Even being able to snag a 6th place in the elim.
One of the biggest takeaways from Bromont was the people.
@carson.mattern taught me a lot over the weekend and honestly got me extremely excited about my future in the sport. Hearing his stories and experiences made me even more motivated to keep training and racing, with the hope of one day experiencing some of the same things he has.
I also can’t thank
@zach_webster_ enough. From helping me through the Madison, teaching me more about this track, and sharing a ton of knowledge about the Milton velodrome, he was a huge help. He also told me that anytime I have a question, I can always reach out, which means a lot.
After Bromont, I headed to Milton, Ontario to ride the Mattamy National Cycling Centre.
@ontariocycling is Such an awesome experience getting to ride that track and see their unreal facilities.
I wrapped up the month in Detroit at the
@madtrackarena , racing the Madison with
@kash__adamski . Getting to race in the Stars and Stripes for the first time was special. Results weren’t my best in the individuals, but I had a ton of fun and learned a lot from the experience.
Huge thank you to
@jclaryo and
@badticker17 for chauffeuring me around, putting up with my antics, and helping make these memories even sweeter.
Grateful for the opportunities, the lessons, and the people along the way. On to February 👊
