7th place at the Olympic Games. Some things I would change - I don’t dream at night of 7th place, but most things I wouldn’t have any other way. We are a young team - less than 2 years ago we were teenagers competing at worlds for the first time at this same velodrome and could only have dreamed of the times we set this week. If we can achieve this in 2 years, just think where we can be for LA 2028. Keep supporting Canadian Team Pursuit. With the right resources we are amongst the best in the world. Gettin’er done. I have been on the podium in every elite national championship IP I have contested since I was 18. This weekend I took my first gold. Hello everyone. An update from me: I suffered a high-speed crash at the Tour De L’Avenir. After colliding with a guard-rail, I fell roughly 20 feet down an embankment. I consider myself lucky under the circumstances as the accident could have been much worse. I have broken my ankle, broke my neck and caused some other muscle damage in my shoulders, neck and back. I have undergone the necessary and routine operation for my ankle and require no surgery for my neck as there has thankfully been no neurological damage. As of writing this, I will remain in hospital for a few more days before returning to Girona and shortly thereafter to Ancaster. I plan to work very closely with the therapists/practitioners within my support circle to treat the injuries to ensure that my body is ready to return to training safely and hopefully as soon as possible. For the moment, I have to accept that I will not be able to compete at both the GP Cyclist de Quebec & Montreal and the Road World Championships. My participation in the Track World Championships remains to be seen. For years, the Tour de L’Avenir has been a race I have aspired to ride. It was hard at times to believe that I was actually in this prestigious race and I am devastated to have had to leave the race on the second-last day. Otherwise I am in good spirits and am thankful for all those who have reached out to me already and the staff who stayed with me in the hospital and are assisting in my transport. I think it is important to smile even while waiting for an ambulance on the side of a mountain 😜

How many times in your life can you say “I’m literally going to the Olympics, like right now” 7 years ago I sat on corner 1 of the Milton Velordome feeling the breeze of the riders going by. I made a commitment that night that one day I would be the one out there. Now I am sat on the same corner holding my boarding pass for Paris 2024.
