@jackfreestone reached out and we chatted about building a few boards for him. I’ve been traveling for the last three and a half years coaching on the challenger series and building boards abroad. Currently I’m in bali, so i suggested that because I’m not home he should shape them himself since he’s been shaping a few for himself lately. I sent the files to @scovel_surfboards_kauai for Jack to finish.
I’m happy to share and support Jack with his journey into shaping, my father helped and shared his knowledge with many shapers and I try to help if anyone reaches out. We realize that we’re part of a special community in a unique trade you can’t learn in school or a classroom and giving always comes back full circle.
It’s good to see great surfers shaping too and when Jack begins to correlate a design and numbers to a feeling then the fun really begins.

For surfers, paddlers, foilers, and swimmers I’d suggest you find midline and squeeze the thighs towards it. Same with cyclists, same with people driving and flying. The knee squeeze supports center, and a well centered center makes everything easier…
The lumbar spine I’ve lived with since 2007. The needy beast behind @foundationtraining has become my road tested vehicle of innovation.
“I know I am capable of feeling better” has lead me to develop exercises and isometric tension postures that help you feel better, too.
I’m so thankful to this work and the community that has continually formed around it.
Sometimes being grateful and just bragging about having a better life than others can look like the same thing on here. Especially when lots of craziness is happening in the world. I’m trying to do the former.
Story for another time but I’m coming up on two months of sobriety and recently had a break through! Realized I can still be and have fun without the help of all that stuff. Even found the confidence to cross dress a whole day dead sober! Haha idk where it’ll lead, maybe stay like this maybe learn moderation but for now this is the way.
Thanks to the wonderful people around making recent times so fun. Fuck, maybe 2026 IS gonna be the year after all! Haha low key life maxxxxxing broooooooo!
Happy early Birthday @jackfreestone . Time is more valuable than money, so what better way then to celebrate you then doing a strike mission and doing all the things you love. Surf (twice),sushi, Jiujitsu coffee, Avo toast and some family time. You live a blessed life and you enlighten everyone with your kindness and energy. Like you answered that lady at the shop yesterday, yes we are siblings, brothers. Love you. 🤙🏽❤️🤙🏽. Thank you to @bearhugsfoyle and @alanarblanchard for letting us have our moment

One thing I try to stress: is a change from seeing FT as a one off workout. Making it a daily practice, a part of your life because Consistency drives resiliency
