A sculpture garden I. The idea behind this piece is a surrealist sculpture garden made as if you are one foot tall wandering the desert scape. The steel sculptures reflect a dream like awe of the monstrous plants and their otherworldly forms and textures. Created with a collection of succulent plants from across the Americas and Africa, with sculptures cut and bent from stainless steel coupled with found pieces of coral sponge. The raised bed is mounted in honed roma travertine. The soil a mixture of high drainage sandy soil with a ground coral top. #gardendesign #sculpture #gardensculpture #functionalart #collectibledesign #stonecarving #art #functionalsculpture #jacksimondsstudio #succulents
A sconce light II, “bees did this”, is created using discarded bee hives. In these specific hives, the bees do not fill the full void, and mimic the same forms they produce in the wild. Embedded into the wall in my studio, come check it out!

Hello NYC!
Jack Simonds, a Brooklyn-based sculptor and designer working with organic forms inspired by nature, shares his pick of 7 places to explore the city:
1. New York Botanical Garden @nybg — A year-round reminder of how powerful nature is.
2. Dia Beacon @diaartfoundation — The ultimate museum, where works are given room to breathe.
3. The Green-Wood Cemetery — An extraordinary park filled with stunning mausoleums and shrines to the deceased.
4. Green Room @green.room.nyc — A new spot (I designed it, so I’m biased) with some of the best programming and dancefloor in the city.
5. Thai Diner @thaidiner — Kitsch, cool, and unbelievably tasty.
6. Tribeca arts district (unofficial name) - This is the area with countless amazing galleries where on an opening night you can hop between amazing shows right next door to each other. Galleries like IRL @irl.nyc , 15 Orient @15orient , Harkwik @harkawik , 52 Walker @52walkerstreet and 1969 gallery @1969gallery .
7. Amélie du Chalard Gallery @amelieduchalard — A beautiful, home-like gallery with diverse artists on view and regularly updated exhibitions.
