PLAY ⭕️
Mocean Dance + Jacinte Armstrong
Multifaceted artist Jacinte Armstrong brings together an interdisciplinary cast to put into play a communal and joyful building of a work. Beginning from the idea that dance is in all of us, PLAY explores how objects around us choreograph the movement in our everyday lives.
Using movement, drawings, music, and colorful large-scale objects, the performers invite the audience to take part in the creative flow.
Audiences can choose to join in to experience moving and performing with the artists, or just sit back and enjoy the time and space, letting this whimsical piece draw them into the moment.

Sharing some fantastic photos of SHAPEVILLE presented by suddenlyLISTEN at the Open Waters Festival @upstreammusicassociation . Thanks to Jamie Kronick for the awesome shots- too many good ones to narrow down! The afternoon of shows was an immersive performance-technology lab combining Augmented Reality with real, tactile shapes activated by dancers and live audio in a welcoming space shared between artists and audiences.
Thank you to our incredible artist team- Brandon Auger @brandon.auger , Gillian Seaward-Boone @gillianseawardboone , Leah Skerry @leahskerry , Kate Holden @_katevt , and James Forren @jiforren . Their talent, care, playfulness, and teamwork really brought this work together.
The architectural- holographic world is made possible by Fologram’s incredible program that links the 3D modeler Rhino with the Hololens headsets.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, and huge thanks to the Open Waters Festival team, who made the whole show possible. Congrats on a great festival this year!!
In case you missed it- there will be more SHAPEVILLE to come! 📸 @jamiekronick
