@jaa.dyn
Jaadyn Rogers (she/they) is a multidisciplinary photographer who has also honed their artistic abilities through dance, writing, and technical theatre. They are also the founder of
@diariesfrommysisters , a collaborative media platform used to uncover and promote the work and stories of emerging and seasoned artists. A core focus of Jaadynโs creative practice and community activism is the intersection and representation of African American and Queer identities.
Jaadyn has been curated by Black Women Photographers as HUGโs latest Visionary Artist. As part of their digital residency, we have commissioned Jaadyn for a limited edition release of their artwork, โThe Only Way Out Is Throughโ. This series was developed as Jaadyn navigated their new identity and growth as a post-graudate after years of academic commitments.
โThrough using material of cloth to represent the soul, I collaborated with dancer Cameron Harris and creative director Olivia Nzang to convey the strategic movement of working through a transitional point like this. The goal is to not go under, nor above hardships; but to immerse yourself to see the lesson on the other side.โ
