Matt & Tom spent years collecting these moments to build a compelling story around Coach Kelsey’s journey to Louisville. The day we visited Charleston, February 10, 2024 was the first time we met, and this is full circle.
There are plenty of times when it’s easier to think about everything that went wrong, or about what didn’t happen, but to have the respect and acknowledgment in this way.. meant a lot.
The work continues… #keepfighting
July ‘16 - NBA Summer League
One of life’s most persistent questions: how do I get from where I am right now, with all this shit I’ve got going on, and get out there, to some distant point where I want to be?
Adjacent questions: without faith, how do you see? Without belief, how do you build?
But how do you build when the belief is gone? Movement, repetition… motion. Be a part of it again, in any small capacity you can. It started for me sneaking out to the golf course with my brother because I couldn’t hoop. Then shooting around, park leagues, intramurals - any courts I could find. Putting in the work at the level I was capable led to finding better work, better knowledge, mentors, and opportunities.
The distant point is uncertain, but over time you accept that the distant point isn’t the goal - more of a directional pull, guiding you toward a path to better.
So how do I get from where I am right now - to where I want to be?
Just get out there. That distant point will remain a moving target - something to strive for - yet you’ll never be closer to it than you are right now.
🏟️ you never forget the guys you walked into the arena with win lose or draw , argument or agree , competitors or teammates , the emotions and memories shared make it special
Great leaders don’t just shape your current reality; they leave you clues for the future. Thank you, @pat_kelsey and @louisvillembb , for the tour this weekend and for making my dream of playing D1 hoops come true. #GoCards

13 Years in! About 150k raised in scholarship’s for Jack’s former volleyball club @pipeline.vc that he was so proud to play on. That’s nearly 100 kids who have been impacted. Thanks to everyone who has supported for over a decade. My mom has put an unbelievable amount of time and love into making this event fun and special. And as my dad says, “Well alright!”
Let’s keep going.
Thank you to the man @byneel_patel for stopping by and documenting a few clips!
