The Los Angeles International Childrenâs Film Festival and the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles
@indianfilmfestival invite you to a free screening at 2 PM Saturday, May 9 at the UCLA James Bridges Theater
@jamesbridgestheater of the poignant and beautifully shot Indian short film Avni,
@storyofavni the story of a young Indian girl who, denied her right to an education, takes matters into her own hands.
The screening will include the presentation of the annual Daniel Koops Outstanding Film Score award, recognizing an outstanding music score from this yearâs festival films. The award carries the name of one of our most talented and prolific composers, who died in 2022 at age 18.
This yearâs honoree is Avni composer Kisaloy Roy.

Accepting the award will be Los Angeles based Indian filmmaker and actor Vibha Kulkarni.
