The Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival is excited to announce the honoree of the third annual Daniel Koops Award for Film Score, named for a young film score composer, a longtime member of the festival family, who we lost at age 18 in 2022. The award honors the composer of the score of a current LAICFF film that exemplifies Daniel’s passion for film score originality and character.
This year’s honoree is Indian composer Kisaloy Roy
@kisaloyroymusic for the poignant short film “Avni,”
@storyofavni written and directed by Indian filmmaker Tej Sisodia.

@davidbertokmusic and Daniel’s father, Alexander Koops, orchestra director at Calvin University.
The award will be presented in the 2 pm hour May 9 at the UCLA Bridges Theater
