Today is the world premiere of Sarah Nemtsov's WE at the Dortmund Opera House. WE is a moving opera of dystopian science fiction based on Yevgeny Zamyatin's novel, the first book to be banned in Soviet Russia. Eva-Maria Höckmayr directed, Michael Wendeberg conducted, Julia Rösler made the costumes, Fabian Liszt designed the stage, Florian Franzen lit the piece and I made the video with Chantal Bergemann and Laura Emma Hansen as DP's. WE stars Seth Carico and Gloria Rehm, as well as Daegyun Jeong, David DQ Lee, Sooyeon Lee, Ruth Peeck, Sungho Kim, Morgan Moody, Natascha Valentin and Ivan Keim.
