Beast update incoming‼️HRH The Beast was hit by a car last Sunday, right outside my flat. TLDR: severe head trauma, multiple fractures, but he is recovering 🥹🚨 I didn’t see him all that day, which isn’t unheard of but slightly unusual; his tracker suggested he was in the garden so wasn’t too concerned until late afternoon when it hadn’t moved & he hadn’t been in to request a 5th breakfast. Long story short, after checking the same set of bushes a few times with no answer (not helped by the fact all the leaves were orange and I was looking for a little orange cat in the dark), he eventually appeared after calling, with leaves stuck to his face where the blood had dried 😿 🍁 I didn’t think he would make it to the vet 😭 but he did. His mouth was hanging off at one side, later revealed that the ligaments had been torn from bone, his jaw was broken in 4 places, some skull fractures, and his neck fractured. He stayed in the vet 3 nights, fought off an infection, and had his jaw held back into place with a wire. I knew he was getting better when he dislodged his feeding tube in his neck and tore off his leg bandage. I had warned the vet this might happen, and they laughed saying that absolutely never happens. Clearly had not met The Beast 🙀😻 He came home on Wednesday evening and I basically sat watching him for hours and didn’t sleep very much. I actually haven’t slept much all week. He was wobbly but clearly glad to be home. He couldn’t meow for a few days, but he’s got his voice back now & we’re having some very good dialogue 🥹 he is requesting fifth and sixth breakfasts - which is handy as his physio is literally “use his mouth -feed him little and often!” 😂 He’s become something of a celebrity in the vet for having such a catastrophic (pun not intended) looking CT scan. He’s not out of the woods yet… but with a lot of love & opioids I think he’s on the right path. He’s been my best pal and constant source of love and occasional wounds to the face for nearly 8 years (!).. he has to stay inside for 6-8 weeks while his bones heal but honestly I never want to let him outside again. Though I have a feeling he’ll have some strong thoughts about this.

This is an appreciation time stamp: for music, for the work I get to do, this beautiful bonkers industry, the people I work with, collaboration, & for me (and the human body*)! This week I challenged myself in new ways & delivered prob our most ambitious all dayer event, sitting ensconced as part of other brilliant happenings that people I love and respect worked with us on to bring greater community and big fat bit of cohesion (@unconventionhub , @prsfoundation TDN conference). Preparing for our AGMs & APMs are months of meticulous planning; and among the 100s of member events we do across the year, they’re at the core. That in itself is a huge responsibility to get right.. but this year, ever the optimist, I added a live show to the mix, to celebrate some of the incredible artists we’ve helped fund via PRSF during their 25th year. I’d been on the other side of live in a previous life of course - but putting a gig together, working with the agents and teams, and seeing people dance and love a show you’ve made happen is a really beautiful thing, it made it ALL worth it. I’ll hang on to that feeling for some time. There has been blood, sweat and tears (of joy). I don’t have ANY nails left (not from biting, been bashed off one way or another), and there are cuts on my fingers i have no recollection of getting. There were more excel spreadsheet tabs than any sane spreadsheet fan can contend with. There were months of 3am wake ups (“have I done x?!” “Does our insurance cover xyz?!” “Did I tell x about y?” “What is life” Will anyone come?” “Will anyone care?!?”) People did come, and I loved watching @astlesmusic , @ellurmusic and @antonyszmierek and the crowd adore em all. On the days surrounding, it was wonderful to have fleeting moments with ace people doing important things, many taking part in TDN conference, or unconvention. Very excited to announce a mega good gig in Manchester featuring his majesty @antonyszmierek , queen @ellurmusic , and marvellous @astlesmusic 🥰😎 🤝 @bandonthewall Weds 19 November DO YOU KNOW WHAT THEY ALL HAVE IN COMMON ASIDE FROM OBVIOUSLY BEING ACE?? (And that I am very appreciative of them all saying YES to a gig) They have each been funded at various points by @prsfoundation funds which @ppl_uk support - PPL Momentum and International Showcase fund. This very gig is a celebration of that ahead of the brilliant @unconventionhub conference happening the following days. In Manchester. Come down!

Highlights of summer sights you say?! 1-3- I went to Portloe and it might be the best damn spot I’ve stayed in in Cornwall. 4- went on a Very Long Walk and fought many ferns. 5- pilgrimage to @argoenewlyn 6- pilgrimage to @verdant_seafood_bar 7- pilgrimage to @jubileepool 8-10- Falmouth 🐕 ❤️ @_kerry_adams_ 11-12- pilgrimage to @harbourhouseflushing 13-15- had to move flat again. DIY & missing bits. 16- @rubensboobins & @paulguidedmissile got married! 🥰 17- @paulbonham took me to the @gorillaz house of KONG! 18- swims continued to be swum 19- mum surprised in flat iron @janbri48 20- @summerloouise avoiding spilling tacos down her top 😂

A brief time in NYC with pals, pigeons, pastries, and pining for the old ‘hood. 1 - big old pigeon, that. 2- is that a..? 3- chaotic Brooklyn street sign I ❤️ u 4- that light though.. 5- my first ever egg everything bagel, with egg. 6- hotel instructions on how to use an electric kettle 🫠 7- elevator at Lorimer station asking some deep questions: YES or NO? I’ll just go to the platform thanks. 8- reflective 9- Lio’s going to some lengths to avoid me hugging him 10- mustard the dog! 11- radio bakery 🤤 12- that light though, part 2 13- miss u bagelsmith 🥹

January’s been a rollercoaster right?! The latter half (& into Feb) been a struggle, plagued by such an epic migraine/energy zap I could barely function.. so felt very very thankful thinking back to the early part of January in sunnier climes ☀️ Here is a snapshot of some of the best in sights from Sevilla! Begun during the Islamic era, and including so many styles as the palace evolved over the centuries. Has a couple of resident cats. 🐈

Stunner of a morning dip - this is my favourite time of year for lido swims! The fair weather swimmers have departed, the water is still pretty tropical (think today was about 19•c), and the sky does some mad stuff 🩷 Woken up by the thunderstorm overnight, I was hoping it had moved along by the time the lido opened! It had, & left some beautiful light & clouds in its wake ⛈️ ⛅️

Went to my first EVER rugby match today. I am so proud of Summer (cheeky grin on right, pic 3), who has dedicated herself to the sport and totally knocking it out the park (I know). She takes (literal, often human) obstacles in her stride too. I’ll be honest, I didn’t have the foggiest really what was going on. But some home runz were had, slams were dunked, and bullseyes were hit 🎯 🏉 🥅 🎾

Stunning start to the morning at @brockwell_lido . In at 06:30 but packed to the rafters (uncomfortably so) by 06:45 so was a short but delightful swim.

Not entirely sure it’s fair on the rest of the UK / world / universe that all the best beaches are in Cornwall 😅🥹💙🌊
