@badlydrawnboyofficial was a big artist for us growing up so when it came to picking a cover, the stripped back original of The Shining was first choice as it meant we could put our own spin on things. It’s been lovely seeing the reaction to it so far!
the idea for the artwork, as explained by @_maxmitchell - “the posts explaining using Ray Kappe’s stuff for the album were really great. This one became part of my book ‘stone codex’ which was a sort of abstract, positive exploration of what the future of public space could be, in the context of playground design / parkour / interaction with architecture - which is coincidentally (or not!) quite applicable to Kappe’s unused plans.”
