Finally, here’s my beginner guide to modular synths workshop debut!
No prior experience needed — we’ll be going back and forth between a standard mono synth (probably my Roland SH-2) and a small modular system as I show you how the architecture works, and how you can subvert that in the modular world.
Hopefully you’ll come away with a better understanding of how synths work, and that modular is more simple than it looks when broken down into component parts. Assuming all goes well I’ll probably do an intermediate follow up workshop where we’ll get deeper into the modular weeds and move beyond your standard synthesis etc.

Friendly reminder we’re still taking submissions for unsigned acts for a free studio day as part of our commitment to helping foster the northern music scenes. Our aim is to do 1 free day per month (or every other month schedule allowing) to help people get their projects off the ground. Get in touch if you think that could be you or your friends.
On the back of the last post about Synth Club would anyone also be interested in drum recording 101 lessons or advanced mic technique lessons? Either 1 to 1 or a small group (which would bring the cost down)? We’re also open to other recording lesson ideas too if people have specific requests. Let us know in the comments or DM’s if you’re into it and potentially would want to sign up.
Who would be up for synth club? Maybe a regular evening of learning how to use modular, try some rare synths out or ask any questions you might have about the world of synths? Open to ideas and suggestions if people fancy it, let us know in the comments or DM’s
Wave At The Girl is officially out !!! It is a love letter to growing up next to the train tracks with my beautiful mum and sister and our many rescue dogs. The house used to shake when a train would go past and one day they fixed the shaking and I found myself missing the warm rocking of the walls. We used to run out and jump into our neighbour Alan’s garden to wave at the train passengers and somewhere with the fleetingness of strangers waves grew this song. X

Performed by Kitty Handley, Additional bass & GTRs by Liam Ogburn, Additional keys by Georgia Clark and programming & drum machines by me. Recorded in an attic, mixed and mastered @miz.studios
Thanks for letting me and Liam fuck around with your songs Kitty (you usually only need 1-2 takes to nail it anyway). Go have a listen on whatever platform is your poison.
Our spacious live room during set up for a recent session. Need a big drum sound or to move some serious air with your guitar/synth/bass clarinet? We’ve got you
Not quite as fun as drums through it, but still when driven in parallel it gives a real thump and heft. More to follow soon, including the famous Shure ‘Kevin Parker’ SE30 limiter/destruction box #kevinparker #limiter #urei #1176 #bl40
