Is this the Lake Districtās best viewpoint? š
It is a short but very steep ascent thatās well worth checking out on your next visit to the Lake District, you wonāt be disappointed. Save it for a sunset to see this magnificent view of Thirlmere. š
Always remember to leave no trace, places should remain as you found them so others can enjoy for generations to come. š«¶

Hereās to May and all the birthday celebrations, hikes and work it will bring...š„³
3 new Nuttalls, (Iām finally half way there now at 221/442!) & 2 old Nuttalls bagged this month plus a few other hills for good measure ā

I canāt wait to return to the Lake District this weekend for some much needed H & R (Hike & Recovery) time. š
Itās not the Scotland trip I had planned but fuel is hella expensive at the moment and I didnāt really have enough time for a proper Scotland road trip anyways which probably wouldāve left me more frustrated than anything plus these Nuttalls wonāt bag themselves, so itās all worked out right? Hereās hoping the weather gods are kind. š¦ļø
Enjoy this collection of photos from some epic hikes in the Lake District, how many locations can you name? Someone has to know the first summit right? š¤

Anyone know any good spots for any bluebells that are still sticking around this year? š¤
I loved visiting Roseberry Topping at different stages in the season last year. š

Today I celebrate my 32nd birthday! š„³
31 was a funny olde age, and a rather challenging but epic year! It had some wonderful stand out life moments and it naturally ended stressful but strong! Iām just so thankful to be mostly injury free this birthday. š¤š¤£
Hereās to all 32 may bring! Itās looking like an interesting one so far as I try to balance my hiking lifestyle, work and owning a home. A challenge Iām truly grateful for and thankful to everyone thatās stuck along for the ride in this year of change. š
Plenty more hikes on the horizon but for now enjoy these photos of me from the last year of my adventures. šø
Shout out to my wonderful photographersā¦

Just come back from a great PR trip in the Lake District to celebrate the launch of @lowauk ās Explorer boot! Such a beautiful few days for it and Martindale was a stunning part of the Lake District to test a boot like this! I canāt wait to share more. š„¾

A birthday bash for a lump of concrete. This is how we roll! š¼š„³
Huge thanks to @ordnancesurvey for sponsoring this event and letting me organise this wonderful event! What a day we had š„¹
A group of beautiful like-minded people came together to hike, celebrate and learn a bit of history.
Whernside made sense for the location for me for 3 reasons:
ā ļø A primary trig pillar
ā ļø The highest point in Yorkshire
ā ļø The epic views
Thank you to everyone for making it such a joyful and memorable day!
š„¾@sameed.asghar for support leading the group
šø @explorewithbrendan for capturing the memories
š the wonderful participants for the excellent company
š¼ and @ordnancesurvey for sponsoring the event and for making trig pillars!

Did you know the humble Trig Point turns 90 today? š¼
Built to aid with the retriangulation of Britain, the first of these was built in Cold Ashby, Northamptonshire, on April 18th, 1936, 90 years ago today. š„³
So the next time you bag a Trig be sure to celebrate it as a great piece of British history not just something near / on the summit of a mountain / hill and if you find one thatās in a random place it potentially had a view towards another a Trig Point once upon a time. Although many of the original 6,500+ are now lost. š
Whatās your favourite Trig Point? Itās hard for me to choose so hereās 20 photos of them that Iāve captured in my time bagging the hills and mountains of Britain. š¬š§
Let me know how many of these you can nameā¦the most correct answers wins the final copy of my 2026 calendar. š

Iāve been a little absent on this app as of late but with good reason! š
Lifeās been rather busy and myself and @1hannahmitchell have been managing our personal and work scheduleās around renovating and decorating our first home. Itās been a wild ride so far but we did get the chance to explore a new area to celebrate 4 years of knowing each other in amongst all that recently. š„³
Iād highly recommend this part of the North Pennines if you donāt want to see another soul all day while hiking. However you may encounter some bad boy racers on the road when you drive here on a weekend, lots of none hikers about. A fun mix. š¤£
The bog is strong but our hearts are full and itās always great Nuttall Bagging when the sun is shining, even if we did experience all weathers on this day. š¦ļø
Enjoy these 20 photos from a near 6 mile hike bagging:

Any recommendations on where we should go to bag some Nuttalls next? š¤

My March 2026 in Photos šø
March didnāt have much spare time for hiking as life and work was very much taking up a lot of time with 3 stag doās and 2 weddings photographed but I managed to have some great times with friends, family and captured some beautiful memories for myself and others. š·
Nevermind trying to get a house ready to live in with all the fun costly things that come with that! Itās tough but we relish a challenge and feel very privileged to have found something that works for us with all the uncertainty of the world right now! Hopefully we can be moved in sooner rather than later for the sake of our bank balances @1hannahmitchell . If anyone would like to help us paint we need you. š¤š
Hereās to april and all the joy it may bring...š„³
2 new Nuttalls and 1 Ethel bagged this month. ā
