Words can’t even describe how I feel right now. My first awards show & my first ever GRAMMYS!!!! This experience has been one of the highlights of my career thus far. The Grammy stage has always been a dream and last night, it finally came to life. 😭 but what made this so special was not only getting sing for an INCREDIBLE artist, but I had the honor to vocal contract some of the best talent in LA who happen to be some of my closest friends. Sharing this stage with you all has been surreal. I’m so full of gratitude!!! 🥹😭🙏🏼

This has been one of the most difficult seasons yet to say the least. Balancing career highs with the reality at home has been emotional whiplash that I really don’t know how to navigate. I’ve cried on the plane, at the coffee shop, at my nail appointment, in the green room, on stage…you name it. We’ve been fighting for 2 years now, but the last few months has been quite a new level…mom being in indescribable pain 24 hours a day, a woman who wouldn’t even take ibuprofen now taking more pain meds than she can count. Trying to wrap my head around HOW…WHY??? God, why would you let this happen, why won’t you take the pain away? What’s the point to all of this….
Countless doctors, countless questions, and no answers.
March 27th, the day before my mom’s birthday, @raye drops her album “This Music May Contain Hope” and I’ve never felt so impacted by a body of work like this before…so many songs on this record I felt speaking to me directly in THIS particular chapter of my life- a chapter where I truly need some hope to hold on to. And then came this moment in this video…a true moment of JOY & hope. So thank you @raye@the.absolutely@amma & all the musicians & friends involved for creating a soundtrack for us to continue to believe in brighter days ahead. Little story about the last few slides….I had a show in Mississippi the night before our rehearsal back in LA (call time was at 9:45am 🫠)…I got off stage after midnight and immediately got on the road back to New Orleans to catch the first flight out at 6am. Would’ve gotten to my parents house in Nola around 2am until a HUGE storm hit and I was forced to pull over and wait it out at a Waffle House 😩 I didn’t get home till about 3:30am only to shower and pack my stuff and then leave for the airport. Literally team NO SLEEP. By the grace of GOD, my flight landed early and my girl @norelleiam swooped me from LAX and drove us straight to rehearsal where we made it right on time and got straight to work!! It’s giving BUS 👏🏼 TRAIN 👏🏼 ANOTHER PLANE 👏🏼 ANOTHER BUS….lol but we did the damn thing & I’m so grateful to see how this all unfolded. 💕
One thing I’ve learned is when something’s for you, it’s for YOU and the universe will conspire to bring it into fruition. I’m so thankful God continues to bless me with opportunities to see the world & do what I love with my friends and support some of the best talent out there. What an epic way to bring in the new year!!! I’m so so grateful for the chance to do what I love with the most incredible people!! Even while being sick and on vocal rest for most of the time, I felt so supported and lifted up from start to finish. To bring a show like this to life so the little girl in me can live out her pop star/showgirl dreams for a night, it truly takes a VILLAGE a days and months of preparation. I am just in awe of this team from the band to the dancers to the choreography to the lights to the wardrobe department, WHAT A SHOW!!!!
